A random photo update

Hello! Are you still there? I have been busy. Like gross busy. So, instead of telling you about the last few months... here are some random camera phone pics to tide you over:

Isaiah played tball. And for some reason, I have few phone pics of it! Here is one of some of his biggest fans :) Isaiah had SO many awesome fans this season! Friends and fam from near and far. He is so loved.

We (Clint) built a fire pit. Here is Isaiah helping with the materials at Lowes.

Isaiah dressed himself as Indiana Jones for his kindergarten (!Cue sobs!) assessment. I feel like I am crushing his soul when I ask him to change. So I just don't. "You look awesome bud" -- standard answer. Ps. He passed with flying colors. He is officially a Pittsfield Elementary Penguin!

"Cinnamon Cake" (Olympic No VOC) has officially debuted in the house. And it is actively making my life better. I freaking LOVE it. Gahhhh! LOVE. I have decided to go with warm and cozy natural fall/desert colors for the house.

I was holed up in a hotel room in small-town-USA Ohio. And this is how I passed the evening. Classy. Not as good as a FREE sexy bath at home, but still good.

The fair that I was attending for work. Gross. Fairs gross me out and make my face feel like it is oozing grease. All fair food should come with blotting papers. Ew.

I will be purchasing these new-season Carter's purple outfits for my niece. Who is pretty much allergic to pink. Which I LOVE. Little girls wear too much pink. And not enough giraffes or elephants.

Have I told you lately that I have an obsession with owls? It is a little known secret, come to light. I love them. So much. And now they are trendy. How annoying.

Not a great pic of Isaiah, but this was a family snuggle on a Saturday some time ago. And I love documenting the relationship between him and his dog. Best buds. Theys like peas and carrots. (Ha. Love Forrest Gump)

Me. On the anniversary. After a few glasses of wine. Clint took my phone. Haha.

He got me to smile. Like always.

And then he caught me in my true form. Goodness. Who is that wino?! Ps. Note the new ring. Love it! No more diamonds. Yay! Diamonds = guilt. I don't want anyone dying/slaving over jewelry for me. I literally lost sleep over it. No bueno. NOTE: Please NEVER buy me jewelry/diamonds. Handmade goodies are green lit though. ;)

Isaiah learned to swim this summer. That's my baby. Nearly drowning while I took pics. ;) Haha

We built a sandcastle one day. It was glorious. Please note the so filthy it makes me want to puke just looking at it seagull feather on top of the middle "tower" -- Isaiah's favorite part. Mine was the mote.

This is a pic of my new cat, Brew. She doesn't look as cute in this pic as she does in real life. Her name is Brew bc: She is the color of a Belgian wheat ale, with a frothy underbelly and hop colored eyes. -sigh-

My son is amazing. Can't you see? He's a superhero! That day he was Green Lantern. If I had a nickle for every picture I have like this... I'd be able to afford to stain my porch. ;)

Oh look! Another Tball picture! This time, a team pic. Isaiah is the handsome little devil second from the left in the front row. Wearing a yellow polo and clutching his first-ever trophy! He also had a certificate, but I was holding it... bc he was too busy clutching his trophy and smiling like crazy. He loved tball, but he loved the awards ceremony/party best of all.

So, there you have it. Tidbits of my mobile life this summer. Nowhere near all-inclusive -- but a peek nonetheless.

Happenings

I know I owe you all some pics from the new pad. And I know we need to name it. And that will happen eventually. But my house is too messy for a photo shoot right now. And my brain is too scattered for a house naming brainstorm.

For now, this is what is going on:

Ohio for work, then home alone working on house projects all weekend -- and maybe even taking pics! Next weekend we have a wedding that Clint is in and a Grad party in Mt Pleasant. The weekend following I am helping throw a bridal shower. The next weekend Clint has roped me into some hunting. The next weekend, is a Bachelorette party for the wedding I am in the weekend after that -- and Clint is having a fishing/boys weekend at our place while I am away. The second weekend in October I have to work in Ohio and Clint is heading hunting. The next weekend we are in Florida for a wedding Isaiah is in. In November we are going to South Dakota hunting for a week.

This is my life. Jealous? Do you wish you could be this busy? Would you like to fill in for me? PLEASE? Haha. At least it is all fun stuff right?

Our garden is going mad. We have so many zucchini, summer squash, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, butternut squash, broccoli, etc etc etc. It is amazing. And overwhelming. But mostly amazing. I love to cook. LOVE to eat veggies. and cannot wait to try my hand at salsa and pasta sauce!

Isaiah starts KINDERGARTEN on Sept 6. Holy. CRAP. I need to find time to school shop. His jeans are all flood pants and "holy Sunday jeans". Gah. Boys. Kids.

Our anniversary was awesome. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend any/all of the places we attended -- but especially Frita Batidos. YUM.

We went to a Galaviz golf outing as well, and it was awesome. So fun. Cannot wait to do it again next year for the third annual! Here is a sampling of our day ... (some of the 250ish shots I captured)

Gosh Darn Busy

I'm sorry I have been so busy. Kind of. Being busy these days has been really fun, and exhausting. My work load and my social calendar are maxed out right now, which leaves very little time for anything else, ahem, like blogging. And, once I do find that time ... after 9p, I just want to chill with the hubs. I can't promise I'll do better any time soon... but I hope to!

Clint and I will be celebrating 5 years tomorrow! And to celebrate we will be going to 5 new-to-us local restaurants and having a "progressive dinner" of sorts that I made up myself -- inspired by Clint -- that I put together so that the foodie in me could run wild! Ann Arbor is a foodie paradise after all.

Clint was my inspiration, as I mentioned... and the conversation went like so:

Me: Where should we go for our anniversary dinner? Some place really fancy downtown... where we can dress up and pretend that we have a lot more money than we do??
Him: Um... or we could spend that same amount of money and eat at a few fancy restaurants and just go in for appetizers. They are the best part anyway.
Me: Like a progressive dinner?
Him: Wtf is that?

Men.

So, anyway .. here we have it!

We'll be trying:
Vinology // for Happy Hour and appetizers
Jolly Pumpkin // for salad and a pint
Frita Batido // for dinner sandwiches
Washtenaw Dairy // for dessert
and
Grizzly Peak Brewing Company // for more pints, and for food -- if we can possibly fit any more in!

We plan to split things at each place and to really pace ourselves and enjoy the time, the food, the spirits, walking around A2, and each other. I love Ann Arbor on Friday nights.

Hell, I love Ann Arbor any night.
