Although many times Mondays are uplifting for me today is decidedly less so... but it is not Monday's fault, it is the Superbowl's fault. I am lagging today because my place is a mess, I didn't consume a drop of coffee before noon, and all the junk I put in my body yesterday is being completely rejected by my snobby digestive organs. Again, it is not Monday's fault. (It is not Monday's fault, it is NOT Monday's fault.... )
In addition, I am sooo hungry and completely insatiable. This always happens when I neglect to get groceries on Sunday's. I must warn you: hunger and lack of caffeine make me into someone I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley...
I ate oatmeal for breakfast. I made it with such lackluster that I could neither enjoy it nor consume all of it. Pass. And then lunch hunger crept up on me like a ninja and hijacked my focus! Just like that! So, I looked through my fridge .. and all I found were these eggs. and tortillas. and shredded cheese. and wing sauce. and leftover chopped red onion.
Annnddd this is what I did with them.... (I am a use it all type of person who cannot stand to waste a single thing.)

| Gross? It tasted better than it looks! Note: hand-me-down plates! Tnx mom! |
(The other one was hastily consumed before a thought about documenting this sad pathetic moment occurred)
I also wanted to share two other things with you today:
My favorite Superbowl Ad :: I love it because it supports local, it supports American made, it makes me think of my dad, and it contradicts popular belief. "This is the Motor City... and this is what we do"
My favorite NYT article of the day :: Michelle Obama is amazing. I think both parties can agree on that. She cares so much about the food that goes into our children's mouths, and our own. And, she does it all while looking fabulous. I find her inspiring.
My mantras for today...
Today: I will get groceries. Today: I will find TUS of this Monday. Today: I will go sledding and try to burn off my poor food choices.Today: I will do something "green" ... I will report back tomorrow (or later today)!

Not sure where the poor food choices came into this????? Did you forget to mention something???? Looks like a relatively healthy, lo-cal day, to me. As long as you are a cheese eater...... Am I missing something, here???
ReplyDeleteHaha :) I used a liberal hand with the cheese today... and flour tortillas have like zero nutritional value! (darn it!) Yesterday's food choices were what I wast mostly referring to: pigs in a blanket, bacon wrapped duck, lots of chips, lots of wings.... lots of beer. For someone who doesn't each much meat, by body isn't responding well. Sluggish. I wish I would have had sushi!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, flour is nothing more than glue in your gut, worse than meat. And cheese is just milk for baby cows... ehh... LOL! Extra movement and veggie fiber today and all will be good tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThe Detroit ad gave me little forearm prickles. I love the art from the walls of the DIA and the line, "now it's probably not [story] you've been reading in papers, the one being written by folks who've never even been here."
