Did you know... ?

Good Morning, and Happy Saturday!

I just had a few random thoughts this morning...

Did you know that you can get directed attention fatigue from working/focusing/studying too hard? You can even deplete your directed attention by trying to read in a coffee shop, because of all the noise you are required to concentrate even harder in order to absorb the information! BEHOLD! A solution!

Nature! Directed attention fatigue can be rejuvenated by immersing yourself in green space (or, yawn, surrounding yourself with white walls) for a short period of time. This is wonderful news! SO, study where there are trees and grass and flowers (or in a boring white cubicle) and allow your brain to function without fatigue. (or less fatigue... )

Did you know that plastic water bottles are the devil? (muhahaha) Not only are the bottles themselves coal, oil, and water intensive to make, the majority of water bottles are trashed instead of recycled! Booo! (This wouldn't bother me quite as much if there was a nationwide deposit system... but that is neither here nor there). BEHOLD! A solution!

Reusable Water Bottles! These are surprisingly cute now and SO practical! My son has three, I have two, and even my hubby has one. They also make great His&Hers wedding gifts... I have been complimented for originality quite a few times.

What to look for: BPA-free bottles (generally #7 bottles contain BPA) that are resistant to stain and will not retain odors. Also, you might prefer to find a bottle that is dishwasher safe.

Personal Fav: I much prefer stainless steel water bottles, even though the designed ones should not be put in the dishwasher. The cute designs more than make up for the hand washing!

Sigg water bottles are my favorite! I buy them for everyone, for all occassions, and now you can even personalize them... which is awesome (look for the 'customize' tab at the top).  They start at $18. They are Swiss made.

Klean Kanteen water bottles are also cute and are cheaper. They start at $15. Unfortunately they are made in China. The company has pledged to treat the workers fairly and to pay them a fair wage, and I have yet to see evidence to the contrary.

Just a few thoughts to get your weekend started...
